A Piece of My Heart

Looking back into the year it was like yesterday we welcomed 2013. As the year gradually windup today, I must say of a truth, God has been faithful.
My journey throughout 2013 witnessed indeed some difficult moments and higher levels of divine manifestations of grace, mercy and favour. To this great God I owe my life!

To the new friends I met in the course of the year you all have been wonderful.
To my family my mum and dad and my lovely sisters, niece and great nephews - love you loads!
To my mentors and my spiritual family {The Dayspringers TFH} you are the best.
To my esteem readers thanks for the invaluable time.

Going into the New Year let me share a piece of my heart with you based on some lessons I learnt in the outgoing year:

Refuse to be a burden but a blessing
Refuse to be distracted rather stay focused
Refuse to be idle be diligent
Pursue after good success not the ephemeral

Give God your all and watch him stick to you all year round
Live one day at a time; there is no point chasing after the wind
If it’s in your heart He will place it in your hands

The secret of getting it done is to start now!
Think big, start small; learn to write down those ideas
Pray more; Praise and worship him like all you got is the moment!
Do good always and the right things instantly!

Remember the indispensable virtue of patience
You will need a lot of it in the coming year
Patience gives stability to you expectations

Please, learn to rest and think deep! It’s our year of True Worship, Overflow, Exceeding Grace, Joy and Double Perfection in Jesus Name.

Have a Glorious 2014!

Another Year!

In my heart I ponder
My life as a wonder;
Indeed a wonderful wonder;
A year given to a passionate builder

An invaluable time to consider
To be steadfast and remain an helper;
To be led and be a leader;
A principal actor never an onlooker.

In all I give glory to my Maker;
The Trinity, my Confider and Comforter!
For the strength to match the days;
An undaunted reaper; A Dayspringer!

For the Love Of My Country!

I heard my dad many years ago discuss with his friend that the problem the government were creating we would be the ones to suffer for it! Many years past it still resounds in my mind, until recently it dawned on me that my generation is called to build, to reconstruct and chart the right course for the incoming generations.

We are not to fold our hands and watch as the gates & walls of our Jerusalem remain in ruins. Like Nehemiah we are to lift up the hands that hang down and shake up feeble knees and not watch as unscrupulous few determine the future of our children.

We are called to be watchers standing on the tower seeing ahead and bringing in divinity to intervene in the course of humanity. We are the light of the world but our light must first shine in our homes and communities and then it reflects on the nation.

We are to get actively involved and not stand aside and complain as if the destiny of our nation is in the hands of a mortal man. We all have a part to play we can strengthen one another with positive words and serve as sons and daughters of consolation.

I don’t care what you choose to believe, this nation will rise above its challenges, this nation would not break nor scatter. It will be a united indivisible indefatigable nation under God!

So fellow Nigerians lets sound the alarm, let it ring loudly and let the whole world know like a song writer rightly said - "how can they say we are finished when we have just begun" and i concur with these words – “who is it that saith and it cometh to pass when the lord commandeth it not?”

I am proud of this great nation with great & beautiful people. Happy 53rd birthday Nigeria, happy independence day Nigerians!

I REP NAIJA ALL THE WAY!

Before & After

Whether it’s a diet plan, plastic surgery, beauty make-up, body cream, skin care products or hair products, there is always a before and after story that sells. Imagine the picture of an obese woman and right next to it is another picture of the same woman who had lost about 20kg all in 10 days all by a diet plan. Wow!!! I hear you say right, my exact reaction when I see such advertisement.

Whatever the product or service that is being sold, it tells a transformation story. It tells that you can change what you do not like about yourself, and that it can happen in the shortest of time.

But I even have a greater and more captivating story of transformation than all of those. This story has rocked my world and never left me the same again. It happened 2000 years ago, and it is still happening as I write this, and it will continue to happen. It is not a get rich quick phenomenon or a lose 20kg in 10 days story.

It is a transformation story told by Jesus on the cross, as each nail pierced into his hands, and each drop of blood and water fell from his body. Each of those drops spoke about you and was for you.
A transformation story of grace, that takes you the way you are (despaired, broken, sick, lost, damaged, blind, rejected, disappointed, disillusioned, etc.), and transforms you into who you ought to be (healed, restored, victorious, winner, focused, found, renewed, accepted and loved).
A story that gives you an after - of victory, power, redemption, healing, peace and love, not a face lift surgery; But it lifts the whole of you from the miry clay and sets you upon a solid rock.
It is not a weight loss regime; but it carries every weight and burden you ever carried. It is not a beauty make over transformation; but it beautifies your spirit, soul and mind, and trust me your body is not left out.
So you are here today. You have a before story, you can also have this after story of transformation and grace.

Probably you have already experienced this transformation; once you were lost now you are found, once you were blind but now you see.  As you live this transformed life, share this story with someone who has not heard, don’t keep it yourself alone.

God Bless.

Shalom

Dont Wait, Inspire Yourself!

A story in the bible tells about when David came back with his soldiers from a particular war only to find that their homes have been invaded and wives and children captured.

The Lady Next Door

I watch in awe across the wall
The pain so deep it makes insane
The hurt so real it bleeds within
To a mind so beautiful yet abused

She managed a smile as she walked away
Within are longings without are fears
As she craves a heart to listen to heed
To the songs in her heart yearning for ears

Alone and empty the Lady next door
With riches surrounding but vacuum remains
On a bed drenched that it spills over
With tears and cry for desperate help

This I saw I felt her pain
The man the leader a beast can be
In a rage with reasoning trampled underfoot
She whimpered with pain, the Lady next door.

A home so sweet for you I pray
As tears dropped from my heavy eyes
She thus endured with hope for peace
The Lady next door the storm will still

Be strong be brave thy light will shine
The Father sees and is orchestrating things
He will comfort and assuredly restore your Joy
The Lady next door could be me or you!

To all women that are abused all over the world – rejoice help is on the way!
To all abusers of women all over the world stop now or face the wrath of God!  {dedicated to all women that suffer abuse.}

Celebrating Womanhood

To you I write with joy in my heart
For the joy you bring and smiles you ignite
Thanks for being a woman indeed
Thanks for being a woman of virtue

Thanks for being a mother, a wife & a helper
Thank God for the salvation of your soul
Thanks for the womb you carry
Thanks for modelling generations to come

Thanks for sleepless nights & early rising
Thanks for abuses you have endured
Thanks for the Joy of Old Age
The affection, compassion is beyond measure

In all weather and never your love wither
At all season you gave reasons to continue
Your love transcends leaving many in awe
For me you are a life giver, a restorer of hope!

I celebrate you precious!

Just Like Butter & Sugar

Cake making starts fundamentally with mixing of butter and sugar also known as ‘creaming’. These two; butter and sugar, each has its own unique properties and usefulness in a cake. The butter or fat provides creaminess, tenderizers and incorporate air bubbles in the cake, while the sugar acts as a sweetener and it tenderizers the cake. On the first look, they both seem two seem immiscible, but with more stirring/creaming, the sugar gradually dissolves into the butter, while the butter absorbs the sugar making it lighter and fluffier.

By appearance it seems like all the sugar is gone and lost. But on the contrary, by dissolving, the sugar makes the butter lighter, creamier, sweeter and of a very smooth consistency. So the sugar is not being lost, rather it is making the butter better and fit for its purpose in the cake, while retaining its sweet taste. Two additional important points I found out about this creaming is that; the mixing must always be done in one direction only, and that it requires a great amount of work/effort (it does not happen automatically).

A couple can be likened to the butter and sugar, the husband being the butter, while the wife being the sugar; both of them uniquely gifted and different in their own ways, personalities and potentials. When a man and a woman get married, they have to mix and blend their ways and self to become one. In God’s sight from the moment they were joined as husband and wife, they became one.

However, they have to physically and mentally work together to become one. Therefore, as sugar dissolves in butter, so should the wife submit to her husband. In submitting to her husband, she does not lose herself or give up herself, as contrary thought, rather she complements her husband, gives her best and uniqueness to the union. By her input, submission, respect and love she helps her husband to become a better man, smoothen his rough edges, soften his hardness and at the same time add flavour to his life, and in all of these still maintain her own sweetness, uniqueness and purpose.

The husband on the other hand, who is the butter in the mix, is to accept the woman (sugar) with love, being aware that they are better together than apart. He does not see her inputs as controlling or her submission as something to be trampled upon, but as a blessing in His life to make Him become a better man, the kind of man God has created him to be.

As pointed out, to achieve the desired mix, the mixing has to be done in one direction; which means the couple has to choose to go about their marriage by one way. There is the husband’s way, the wife’s way, the world’s way and God’s way. The first three would definitely bring with it many disappointments, hurts and pains. But to go by God’s way is to choose the path of success.

Following God’s way means seeking from his word and doing what His word says. By following God’s way only, a couple can be sure that even though it requires a lot of work on their part, the journey is going to be successful and they would have a beautiful end. Isn’t this the will of God that: “therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be ONE flesh.

Shalom,
