Cleaning Up My Closet!

“One BIG lesson I learnt in the year 2012 is to Forgive Quickly and Love Truly. It brings so much peace to your whole being.”  Yomie… Be the Best!

Looking back into the outgoing year, I can but give God thanks for all He has done for me.
Amidst my successes, triumphs and uncountable victories deep inside me I know I still need a lot of refining, polishing and above all I've got some cleaning to do.

I discovered in my journey through 2012 that I also went into various shades of pains, hurts and disappointments from various quarters {like Marvin Sapp the songwriter said ‘had my share of ups and down’}. Some were deliberately done to me while others out of ignorance. To all of you that have put me through these instances I say thank you, I forgive you and I love you sincerely {no matter my feelings}.

Some I walked into through disobedience and stubbornness but I am eternal grateful to God for His mercies that brought me out and for the timeless lessons I learnt during the period. To those through my actions and inaction have been hurt in one way or the other, please find a place in your heart to forgive me and accommodate my weakness.

I can’t imagine going into the New Year without giving God thanks for the exploits he wrought through me, I know the best is yet to come. To a wonderful spiritual family {The Dayspringers TFH} I love you so much that heaven is so much aware.
To my mentors I love you. To my new friends and the old ones let’s do it again.
To my parents and lovely sisters I can’t wish for another.
To my esteem readers thanks for the priceless time you took in reading my write-ups.

As we move on into the New Year let me share these thoughts with you:
The most important thing any man can possess is the Joy of Eternity.
Having the knowledge that eternity reside in you brings joy and hope.
You may miss a lot of things in life: business, spouse, children, relationships, friends etc. But do all you can never to miss the Joy of eternity. To have eternity in you is having Christ in you. If you haven’t please make sure you handover to Him before you crossover into 2013.

Have a Glorious Year!

These 3 Things...

As I sat on the red sofa, my heart all welled up and ready to spill all out to my best friend. With his ever listening ears and eyes of compassion and love looking at me I started unburdening my heart to Him, telling him about the answered prayers, miracles, new opportunities I experienced this year. I then moved to the disappointments experienced, heartbreaks suffered and unanswered prayers i am beginning to wonder if God ever heard.

Honestly, I did not mean to complain and count my woes along with my blessings, but though I am grateful for all the good things I have received this year, some disappointments and unmet expectations still cast dark clouds in my mind. But then I wasn’t finish, because my worry is not how this year turned out, but how I can live the New Year happy and joyful all through. How do I prevent repeating the same mistakes next year? How do prevent disappointments and heartbreaks from stealing my joy and peace of mind? How do I make this New Year my best year so far?

Like He always does, my best friend listened undistractedly, not judging, but giving me the confidence that all I say is safe with Him. When I was done, He touched me and spoke: my dearest, you have spent a big part of your year and life listening and believing the lies of the devil rather than listening and believing the truth of God. You have allowed supposed unmet desires/expectations to rob you of the joy of things you already have. You have allowed worries to win the battle in your mind instead of peace. You have looked unto man for help, than you have to God. The New Year is just another year with days and nights, but what it turns out to be for you is up to you.

As the Spirit of God and His voice in your life, I am going to tell you three things you must do, and whatever you experience or do not experience, receive or do not receive, ensure you keep these three things in your heart and mind and do them.

1.      Always rejoice in who God is; no matter the situation or circumstance He is a God for that situation. Let the knowledge of who He is fill you with joy always whether you feel like it or not.
2.      Choose prayer over worry. Never think about anything twice without praying about it, and once you pray about it, stop thinking about it. Once committed to God in prayer, His peace would envelope your heart.
3.      Finally, fix your thoughts on things that are true, honourable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and worthy of praise. Do not give ground to the wrong thoughts. Let your mind be a garden full of thoughts that are true, honourable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and worthy of praise.

My dearest, problems and disappointments from men shall surely come, but with these 3 things you have joy, peace and God in control of all your affairs all year round, and of course you have me your counsellor, teacher and guardian. As you start this New Year may you live in the fullness of what God has freely given you, and in whom God has made you to be.

Shalom,
You are made for MORE

God Is Making A ‘Delicious’ Story Of Your Life.

Sometimes when I look at a food recipe, I’m amazed at the various ingredients that go into a particular food, and also the procedure to be followed in adding each of these ingredients to bring out the best taste and flavour.

When the chef is busy adding the ingredients, you may not be able to make sense of all that is been done, and possibly, you may wonder the need or importance of a particular ingredient in the food. But one thing you can be sure of is that when the Chef is done with all the cooking, a superb delicious meal is ready to relished.

Right now you may feel like a pot of soup not knowing what the next ingredient is going to be, or what is going to happen next in your life. The heat is burning, and all you are thinking of is, when all of these would be over.

Isn’t God more than a Master Chef? He is the author of all things, the architect of the universe. He does not only write great stories of our lives, he gives us a greater ending. I am here to tell you brother and sister, every detail of your life or happenings may not make sense to you, but be rest assured it makes sense to God. He knows what he is doing and He is working it all out to a glorious and perfect end. Live with the confidence that God’s got it all in control.

He is the Master Chef in your life and he knows the right ingredient to add and the right time to do it. Live with the confidence that whatever he does, he does for your good, and at the end of it all, your life would turn out greater and better than you ever imagined. Hasn’t God promised that His plans for you are of good and not of evil to give you a beautiful, glorious, great and DELICIOUS end.

Shalom,
You are made for more!

From Me To You!

To you my friend I write today
With words so lively on these lips of clay
To a mind so tender yet going astray
That your light will shine, don’t dismay!

There's a light in you that shows the way
A guide to lead and not to stray
When you reach within, your fears allay
Your joy cometh without delay!

This has come to pass and not to stay
The pains the hurts, will blow away
Someday someway as you watch and pray
You'll have rejoicing too big to portray!

 "...And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."{John 1:5}

Lots of love.

Take Time To Know

When I purchase any appliance or equipment I really do not bother myself about the manual, rather, I just go right ahead to use it. In some cases if the information on the manual is short I take out time to familiarize myself with the information.

However, manuals written in about 5 different languages are not just my thing at all. I just dump them somewhere, until someday something goes wrong with what i bought and then I start to look for the manual in the stack of other manuals. Truly I would have prevented many faults and damage if I had taken time to read through the manual.

Family, marriage, relationships, parenting, health, business, money, work, savings/investment etc. are all areas of our lives all covered in the word of God. The word of God, which is the bible, is our life manual. To start out or to live our lives without getting daily counsel from the life manual is not only unwise but costly. Because like an appliance, you will save yourself from much mistakes and regrets if you daily consult the word of God, before doing anything.

There are more books available now on various topics of life than there were many years ago. The truth is many people spend a good amount of time reading books on marriage, relationships, finances, family, spiritual growth etc. than they do reading the Bible. Books are good, but they should never be substituted for the truth in God’s word. We also can learn from other people’s experience or even our own experience. But the best place to learn everything about your life is the word of God because it is the only one with 100% guarantee and warranty.

If you have dumped your life’s manual in a stack of other books/manuals. It is time to search it out, dust it up and start the self-discovery of God’s purpose for you. We have no excuse not to live any area of our lives to the best, because God has it all fashioned out in his word. Brothers and sisters let us take time to know what God has to say about each area of our lives.  Like the buyer of an appliance it is your responsibility to read the manual and operate the equipment accordingly. The same with God, he has given us His word to live by, but it is our responsibility to read this word and apply it rightly in our lives.

What A Life!

I got this piece from my CEO friend *“kelacious kela” a lady that discharges her duties with an uncommon finesse. It was timely and on point. I was lifted reading it and decided to share it too. Enjoy it!

Over time I have discovered there is no absolute finish line for everyone in the race of life. Our tracks are different, our lanes are different & our durations are different. The only thing we have in common is the same Umpire. For instance, one person graduates at age 20 and struggles for another 5years to get a job, another might graduate at age 25 and gets a job immediately.

One can marry a virgin and wait for the next decade to have the blessings of children, another lady probably after having series of abortions in her past, becomes a mum almost immediately after marriage. A fellow becomes MD at 38 and dies at 56; another becomes MD at 55 and lives to 90. What a life!

Life is full of twists, turns, ups and downs and many more surprises and disappointments. Life offers each one of us different opportunities, and once an opportunity is lost is gone forever I was told. It is up to each one of us to patiently prepare, wait, recognize and utilize every opportunity.

We learn on the way. No one knows it all or has it better. There is a reason why we all don’t fall at the same time. It’s so that when one is down, weak and discouraged, the other who is strong, can encourage and uplift the other person. God never promised that the road would be easy but He promised never to leave nor forsake us.

Although life is a competition, let us learn to go easy on ourselves and trust that God is working it all for good (even if it doesn’t make sense now). I know that there is a time for everything but most importantly that “it will come to pass”. Whatever trials, challenges or down time, this too shall pass and even in due course, you will be up and strong again to lift up those who maybe down around you.

Remember, you are never a photocopy; you are the designer’s design!

Like No Other...

I couldn't have chosen any other
But you two as one that makes no other
I bless the lord for making you a vessel like no other
To the world a gift to give like no other

Wrapped carefully in a belly like no other
Of a maiden a mother so tender
A jewel a wife like no mother
A seed in a man, a husband like no father

In me a dream like no other
Set to cross boundaries scaling borders
A light to shine in dark weather
A bridge to get you to a place like no other

With brightness like glory of the heavenly father
Father of all fathers, God even our Great Maker
Who makes my flower bloom never to wither
Nor allow men toss me hither & thither!

I thank the Lord all the day for bringing me over
To a world of champions, still mellower
To my mum and dad I write this letter
That I love you so much like no other!

Today Is The Day

10 months have rolled by and now we are starting the 11th month of the year. I don’t know about you, but for me it is a bit difficult to remember how January, February, March etc. were. Was I happy all through those months? Did I achieve my goals? Did I feel fulfilled? Did I make any marked progress in my career, academics, marriage, relationships, business and finances? Do I have any success stories for any of these months?

The year is almost ended and now I ask myself what I did with 2012. Where did all the days and months go? Did I live it just like last year and the years before? So many questions and am sure a lot more are probably going through your head right now.

It seemed only like yesterday when we were all saying, happy New Year, and now it almost time to say another one. It seemed only like yesterday when we declared what this year was going to be for us “Honour”, “My year of goodness”, “My year of double blessings” etc. Very soon we would be putting together the words to describe how 2013 would be.

Do we actually live a year or do we live a day. All we ever and will always have is a day. The day makes the week, which makes the month, which makes the year. It does not matter how many years we live on earth, all we truly live is a day. Therefore it is what we make of our day that makes our year.

We have 365 days in a year to make that year what we want it to be. We have 365 days to make those changes, break those habits, build and improve those relationships, improve our career, make our home and marriage better, build and grow ourselves spiritually, work diligently and give our best etc. Yes you have the year 2012, but what you truly have is 365 days to see and live what you want the year to be, and of these 365 days all you ever have at once is one day.

This means, if:
You want progress, success, productivity, advancement and fruitfulness you only have today to make it happen.
You want to live a happy life, live a happy today.
You want to have a successful life and year, live a successful today.
You want to grow more in your knowledge and fellowship with God, start today.
You want to start saving and investing, today is all you have.
You want a better marriage, then today is all you have to make it right.
You want to forgive, today is the day.
You want to live for God and serve God, then today is the day.

Don’t misguide yourself to think I have the whole year to do and achieve all I need to. Am sorry to disappoint you, but NO, you do not. All you have is TODAY, because at the end of the year what counts and matter most are not the goals you set at the beginning year, but the things you did daily to achieve those goals.

Before 2012 ends, we still have November and December, approximately 61 days. It is never too late to live the year you wanted. Live today like the year you wanted. Live happy and joyful today. The day has already been blessed by God and his mercy and goodness are already packed full for the day, all you need to do is take hold of them and start living the year and life you desire.

Shalom,
You are made for MORE!
